Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and RCS Business Messaging guidelines, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data from our systems. This policy outlines the process and timeline for data deletion requests.

Methods to Request Data Deletion

Method 1: Email Request

Send an email to privacy@atavtelecom.in with:

  • Subject: "Data Deletion Request"
  • Your registered mobile number
  • Your full name
  • Reason for deletion (optional)
  • Any supporting documents for verification

Method 3: RCS Message

Reply "DELETE" to any RCS message from ATAV Telecom. You will receive a verification link to confirm your deletion request.

Method 4: Web Form

Visit our Contact Us page and select "Data Deletion Request" from the subject dropdown.

What Data Will Be Deleted

Upon successful verification, we will delete:

  • RCS Message History: All sent/received messages and delivery receipts
  • Personal Information: Name, email, phone number, address
  • GPS Data: Location history and device associations
  • Marketing Preferences: Consent records and campaign interactions
  • Support Tickets: All customer support conversations

What Data Will Be Retained

Due to legal and regulatory requirements, we cannot delete:

  • Billing Records: Retained for 7 years (Income Tax Act, 1961)
  • TRAI Compliance Logs: Message delivery logs retained for 12 months
  • Fraud Prevention: Records related to suspected fraud or illegal activity

This retained data is minimally processed and only used for legal compliance.

Verification Process

To protect your privacy, we must verify your identity before processing deletion requests:

  • RCS Users: Verification via one-time password sent to your registered number
  • Email: Response from your registered email address
  • Phone: Verification questions about your account

If we cannot verify your identity, we will not process the deletion request and will notify you within 24 hours.

Confirmation of Deletion

Once your data has been deleted, you will receive:

  • A confirmation email/SMS with case reference number
  • List of data categories that were deleted
  • Information about any data retained for legal purposes
  • Contact information for follow-up questions

Withdrawal of Deletion Request

You may withdraw your deletion request at any time before processing is complete by contacting our support team. Once deletion is confirmed, data cannot be recovered.
